In Java, rain does not usually fall every day and is often moderate, but West Java—especially Bogor—experiences frequent rainfall, which is why it’s often called the “City of Rain.”
In contrast, East Java is generally drier, with more sunny days, making it easier to explore natural attractions. Other islands such as Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Maluku, and Papua usually experience heavier and more frequent rain during this month.

East Java is a good option in November, particularly in the early to mid-month, as the region tends to stay relatively dry. You can explore Mount Bromo, Tumpak Sewu Waterfall, or see the blue fire at Ijen Crater. Other destinations in East Java worth visiting include Madura, Banyuwangi, and Malang.
If you plan to surf in Banyuwangi, it’s best to check weather and sea conditions in advance, as cyclonic winds often affect the Indian Ocean first.

In other parts of Java, destinations like Magelang and Yogyakarta are still suitable for travel.
