The location is one of The Patio’s biggest strengths. It’s close to major attractions like the Sultan’s Palace and Sonobudoyo Museum, and surrounded by cafés, local eateries, and laundry services. Grab rides are easy to find, though getting to the hostel for the first time can be a bit tricky—especially if you’re coming by car. It’s best to stop on the main road and walk in through a narrow alley. There’s no car parking available.
The hostel has a shared kitchen and a small common area, where you might hear music drifting in from a nearby café. The ‘plunge pool’ shown in the photos is more of a decorative pond—no one used it for swimming, but it does add a peaceful, garden-like touch to the common area.

Breakfast is simple but delicious: toast, pancakes, or rice—just write your name and choice on the wall the day before. Everything is kept tidy overall, though the shoe rack can get a little messy. And yes, the building shows its age, but for the price, you really can’t expect more. The value here is outstanding.
