We spent three nights at Magnolia by Kozystay – Kebon Jeruk as a family with two small children, and honestly—it was a fantastic stay. The moment we arrived, I felt like we had found a perfect home base in Jakarta. Comfortable, convenient, and well thought-out for families, it’s the kind of place I’d gladly return to.
Strategic Location
The apartment is located in Maqna Residence, a modern and secure complex in West Jakarta. It’s a bit far from the main tourist attractions, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. If you’re looking for a peaceful place to stay before a flight or want to avoid the chaos of the city center, this is a great pick. Soekarno-Hatta International Airport is relatively close, and the area around the residence is well connected by main roads and tollways.
It’s also just a short drive to the MACAN Museum—a beautiful spot if you’re in the mood for contemporary art. Aside from that, most of Jakarta’s iconic sights are a bit out of reach, but you’ll find everything you need right around the corner.

Thoughtfully Equipped for Everyday Family Life
One thing we really appreciated was how well-equipped the apartment was. The kitchen had everything: a microwave, fridge, stovetop, and full set of cooking utensils. That made it easy to cook simple meals or reheat food we’d ordered in—especially helpful with kids and their morning hunger. They even provided a 15-liter gallon of drinking water, which meant one less thing to worry about.

The surrounding area turned out to be surprisingly convenient. Being part of a business district, there are plenty of local eateries nearby—small, no-frills canteens and warungs catering to office workers. Prices are very affordable, and the variety is great, but it’s worth noting that many of the dishes are quite spicy, which might be a challenge for young children or those not used to Indonesian heat.
Just steps from the building you’ll find minimarkets like Alfamart and Indomaret, plus a few roadside fruit stalls and casual eateries catering to local office workers. The sidewalks are walkable (a rare treat in Jakarta!), so we could easily take the kids out for little food adventures.

A Spacious, Stylish Duplex Apartment
The apartment itself was set over two floors, with two bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs, and a kitchen, living area, and second toilet downstairs. It felt airy and bright, with modern design and lots of storage space. Fast internet, smart TVs with Netflix, and air-conditioning in every room made our stay even more comfortable.

A real bonus for us was the washing machine—and they even provided detergent. We had been on the road since early morning, traveling all the way from Central Java. It was a long journey involving a car ride, a train, and then another car from Pasar Senen. Our youngest got carsick multiple times along the way, so by the time we arrived, we had a fair share of laundry. Being able to wash everything right away was a lifesaver. The apartment also had a drying rack and a balcony with plenty of sunlight, so everything dried easily.
Facilities That Go Beyond the Basics
The Maqna Residence offers more than we could even manage to use. There’s a full-sized swimming pool, a shallow pool for children, a gym, and a kids’ playroom—all accessible to guests. On the same floor as these facilities, there are also shared spaces where you can relax in the sun or take a break in an air-conditioned lounge.

Smooth Check-In and Refundable Deposit
When booking, we were asked to pay a refundable security deposit of IDR 1,000,000. Everything went smoothly, and we received the deposit back within two or three days after checkout.
Why We Loved It
Magnolia by Kozystay is a great option if you’re traveling with kids or just looking for a quiet, fully equipped space to recharge. It may not be the most central base for sightseeing in Jakarta, but if you’re wrapping up your trip or flying out soon, it’s a peaceful and practical place to land.

What really stood out to me was how much it helped us stay within budget. Having a washing machine meant we didn’t need to pay for laundry services. The large supply of drinking water saved us from constantly buying bottles. And with the playground right there, we didn’t need to go far to keep the kids entertained. Compared to our previous stays in Jakarta, we spent less without giving up any comfort. For me, it was absolutely worth it.
And it’s not just me—this apartment has great reviews on platforms like Booking.com and Expedia, where you can easily book it. There are actually several similar units available, so you can pick the one that best fits the size of your group.
